2017 Acura TLX 4 DR AWD Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2017 Acura TLX 4 DR AWD

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

Optional
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Utilizing cameras or sensors to monitor lane markings on the road, LDW detects when the vehicle crosses these lines and triggers visual, auditory, or haptic alerts to notify the driver of potential lane departure.

Complaint:
"i was driving on highway 3 weeks ago and all of a sudden my car shifted into neutral on its own and would not let me select any gears. luckily i was safely able to pull over to the shoulder without getting rear ended. once i powered off the car and restarted, it let me select "d" drive gear again and behaved normally. i contacted acura dealer and they said it is a software issue and acura is aware of it and no fix is available at this time. then it happened again 3 days ago while i was turning into a parking lot and this time i took it to dealer service department. they checked but could do nothing about it other than clean gear selector push buttons which does not solve the issue. my car has had all recommended maintenance including transmission fluid change done about 5000 miles ago. this is an extremely serious issue and could have resulted in major accident on highway resulting in injuries or death."
