"tl* the contact owns a 2017 buick envision. the contact stated that while in his home with the keyfob in his pocket, his dog kept barking. the contact went to the back door to check on the vehicle and discovered that the vehicle had been running. the contact immediately turned the vehicle off. the contact then called the manufacturer and was referred to the local authorized dealer. the contact was informed that he had to pay out of pocket for a diagnostic test. the contact declined. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 30,000."

"while driving down interstates and highways, the vehicle's dashboard completely shuts down. the radio, meters, dash display, etc. all go dark and turn off for a span of 5-20 seconds. this has happened multiple times over the couple years of ownership. the vehicle is always going at least 60 mph and, while it doesn't turn the engine off, it does turn the air off and, overall, causes a huge distraction for the driver."

"rear tailgate requires manual operation to open, close, and lock. the vehicle is equipped with automatic lift gate controls on the driver door and also by swiping foot under rear bumper. i have documented four times in the past month that the tailgate will not operate properly. each time however that i bring the vehicle to the dealership, the tailgate works properly. the mechanic said it is probably the actuator, but until i can bring it to them when it's not working there is nothing they can do. there was one instance were the tailgate wouldn't lock even when manually operated. i had to drive the vehicle with the tailgate unlocked and opening when i slowed down. the dealer sales personnel did a temporary adjustment by turning the vehicle on and off and adjusting the selection knob on the driver door. your help here is appreciated. the dealership is being very helpful, but can only fix something when they verify that the item needs repair."

"general motors llc (gm) is recalling certain 2016-2017 buick envision vehicles. an accessory nsv universal tablet holder may have been installed incorrectly onto the front seat head restraints, preventing the head restraint posts from fully engaging in the seat back. if so, the head restraints would fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 202a, "head restraints.""
Consequence:
If the head restraint posts are not fully engaging in the seat back, the head restraint may loosen or dislodge, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.
Remedy:

GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the head restraints and tablet holders for the correct installation, reinstalling them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began July 27, 2017. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300. GM's number for this recall is 17239/17258.
