Safety Features

2018 Ford Mustang 2 DR RWD Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2018 Ford Mustang 2 DR RWD

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

Optional
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Utilizing cameras or sensors to monitor lane markings on the road, LDW detects when the vehicle crosses these lines and triggers visual, auditory, or haptic alerts to notify the driver of potential lane departure.

Complaint:
"my 2018 ford mustang with automatic transmisson recently(sept) started having issues with the gear shift being placed in park, but the instrument panel is not illuminated in park. if driver door is open, and keys removed, the chime may or may not sound. research is showing same issue being reported and recalls were done due to missing roll pin that attaches the park pawl rod guide cup to the transmission case, and unseated transmission gear shift cable clip. if the parking brake is not applied, this could result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of injury or crash. the recalls only covered vehicles manufactured at a certain plant. however, my vin # is not included in recalls. due to safety concerns that my vehicle may lose park function and roll away, causing damage/harm to others, i feel it should be included in the recall programs and repaired at no cost to me. i have not taken vehicle to dealership at this point, as they will charge me $150 diagnostic fee."
