"tl* takata recall. the contact owns a 2007 gmc yukon. the contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 21v050000 (air bags) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. the contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. the contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, she missed her exit and attempted to pull over to turn around however, the truck driving behind her could not slow down in time and while the truck driver was attempting to pass the vehicle on the right side of the roadway, the driver's side of the truck struck the contact's vehicle by the passenger's side wheel and front fender. the contact stated that the passenger's and driver's side side-curtain air bags deployed however, neither the driver's nor passenger's side frontal air bags deployed. there were no injuries sustained. a police report was filed. the vehicle was driven from the scene of the crash. medical attention was sought the following day. the contact was given a clean bill of health. the contact reached out to her insurance company for assistance with having the vehicle diagnosed however, there was no immediate response. the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 200,000. parts distribution disconnect. - (recall related incident) ts"

Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed on February 23, 2021. Second notification letters will be mailed once the remedy is available. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 20, 2021.
