2013 Nissan 370Z 2 DR RWD Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2013 Nissan 370Z 2 DR RWD

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

No
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Utilizing cameras or sensors to monitor lane markings on the road, LDW detects when the vehicle crosses these lines and triggers visual, auditory, or haptic alerts to notify the driver of potential lane departure.

Complaint:
"the clutch slave cylinder failed which results in not being able to put the car in gear once you have stopped and placed the car in neutral. this failure happened at an intersection and caused me to not be able to proceed. one car almost slammed into me. nissan has known about this inferior plastic part since 2009 and has not changed anything."

Complaint:
"the clutch slave cylinder failed on our 370z as the vehicle was driving on the highway and county roads. the clutch pedal would not return all the way back up thus causing the transmission to be stuck in the gear it was in, and be less in control of the vehicle. after doing more research since, this is a known problem with the nissan 370z due to the poor design of using a plastic constructed slave cylinder that is mounted in the transmission bell housing. this is something that nissan should have recalled by this point!"

Complaint:
"was driving down the highway when i went to shift into another gear. the pedal felt "light", meaning it had less resistance in the first half of the stroke. in the remaining half of the stroke the clutch disengaged enough to shift gears. when releasing the clutch pedal, it remained stuck to the floor and i had to flip it to its released position with my foot. this behavior continued until i had the car towed to a service center"

Complaint:
"had no pressure in clutch about a year ago while driving on the highway and kept getting stuck after releasing it. had the clutch and flywheel replaced, problem went away for a while. but it's been less than a year, and i am having the same problem again. i was driving on the freeway in stop and go traffic, and the clutch suddenly had no pressure halfway again. now the problem might be the clutch master cylinder or clutch slave cylinder. it happened suddenly on the freeway with no indication of warning. i still have stock power terrain parts. i have seen many people on 370z forum with the same exact problem."

Complaint:
"car has 17,751 miles on it. bought 30 days ago from acura dealer in fort worth. went to pull out of garage, and the clutch pedal is stuck to the floor. getting it diagnosed at nissan dealer, but it's believed to be a slave cylinder that is a known malfunction by nissan, and they will not recall it or cover it under power-train warranty."

Complaint:
"***nissan 2013 370z (mt) clutch slave cylinder *** purchase brand new. in march of 2013, just 2k miles the slave cylinder failed. replaced under warranty. on 6/17/2016, i was driving on the freeway, my clutch failed during traffic hours on the 60 east fwy. i could not shift the gear to get to lower or higher gear. thank god i was able to get on the shoulder lane to stop safely. this happened at 3,100 miles. yes, just after my factory warranty had just expired. csc is not covered under powertrain warranty but nissan has agreed to fully pay for the second replacement. this is clearly a safety issue and can cause bodily harm when driving and clutch fails. also i belong to a nissan social community forums and there are many have had the same issue. this should be a recall. be safe out there. *tr"

"clutch slave cylinder: i was stopped for a traffic light in the center lane on a heavily traveled road. when the signal changed, i depressed the clutch to put my car in gear, i was unable to put in gear - the clutch petal stuck to the floor and would not return to the resting position - fluid was leaking on the road. unable to move my vehicle to a safe location, i turned on emergency flashers and called for help. the 911 operator said get out of the car and stand on the side of the road they dispatched an officer and tow truck. the officer pushed my car to the right lane, blocked traffic with his vehicle to prevent an accident and waited until my car was on the tow truck."

"hi, i've been having issues with my 2013 370z clutch, i am assuming it is the clutch slave cylinder. when the car is hot the clutch pedal will stick to the floor or not have any return pressure when pushing the clutch in. i feel this is going to become and issue and could be a safety concern on a road at speeds."

Complaint:
"this is my husbands car so i do not drive it regularly and i do not drive it like a race car. the car was in our garage all day until i left so nothing was overheated. i had driven about 5 miles at less than 50 mph along an access road, stopping for 3 red lights. i thought it was clutching oddly, but since i hadn't driven it much, i thought it was me. at the 4th red light the clutch went soft when i pressed it and only came back up half way but i was able to get moving, the clutch pedal rising less with each shift. my destination was just after the light and as i turned left across the traffic i lost the clutch completely as i went into 2nd gear. this left me coasting in neutral across two lanes of oncoming traffic and a dip and curve entrance that required a more momentum than i had. 1st and 2nd would not engage and i was able to grind it into 3rd and clear the lanes. i coasted into a parking spot and the clutch was completely depressed to the floor and i could smell it burning. after my appointment, i used my foot to pull the clutch back up and it actually worked. i drove directly to the dealership, pulling the clutch back up each time and oddly enough, by the time i arrived the clutch was functioning again. they were unable to reproduce the problem, however they said there was a bulletin addressing the 'very rare' issue, something to do with the boiling point of the factory installed hydraulic fluid. they flushed the system and put in a different oil. i have only had the car back for a day but to me the clutch still feels a little soft. i am documenting this in case it happens again and because this dangerous situation could have been avoided if the manufacturer would have voluntarily replaced the fluid, if that is really what caused this issue . *tr"

Complaint:
"i have a 2013 370z with a manual transmission. on 4-9-2014 i was traveling 45 mph on expressway. i began slowing for light and downshifting from 6th gear to 5th and 4th. when i shifted into 4th gear the clutch pedal did not return to it's normal position and stayed about 1/2 way down towards the floor of the vehicle. i then shifted into 3rd gear and the clutch pedal went completely to the floor and remained fully depressed and did not return to it's upright position. i had no clutch function at this point. i muscled the car into neutral to avoid stalling the engine and came to a stop at the red light. i was unable to place the car in gear when the light turned green. i ground the gears and got the vehicle into 2nd gear, got off the expressway and into a nearby parking lot. i called a tow and had the vehicle towed to the nearest nissan dealership. i was informed that the hydraulically actuated clutch fluid had overheated and failed causing the hydraulic actuation of the clutch to fail. the dealership flushed the hydraulic system and replaced the hydraulic fluid with higher temperature fluid from a gtr per nissan service bulletin ntb13-026a. the vehicle seems to be operating properly at this point but i was very concerned and could have easily been involved in a accident as i was sitting at a green light on an expressway with a disabled vehicle. nissan is obviously aware that standard duty hydraulic fluid in 370z's can overheat and fail as noted in their service bulletin. i feel that hydraulically actuated manual transmission 370z's should be filled with high temperature hydraulic fluid from the factory. *tr"
