"tl* the contact owns a 2005 nissan altima. the contact purchased the vehicle used from a private owner. upon purchasing the vehicle, the contact noticed a hole on the bottom of the driver's side floor. the contact called luther nissan of inver grove (1470 50th st e, inver grove heights, mn 55077, 952-479-4974) and was informed that this was a known failure. the contact was informed that there was a repair kit to remedy the failure and was provided a repair estimate of $300. the contact refused to pay for the kit. the manufacturer was notified and stated that the vehicle was not under warranty. the manufacturer offered no further assistance. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was approximately 203,000. the vin was unknown."

Consequence:
MISALIGNMENT OF THE LIGHTS DIMINISHES FRONTAL ILLUMINATION WHICH COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy:

GENERA WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND OFFER TO REPURCHASE THE NONCOMPLIANT LAMPS. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 25, 2007. OWNERS CAN CONTACT GENERA AT 714-522-6688.
