2019 Nissan Murano SUV AWD Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2019 Nissan Murano SUV AWD

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

Standard
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Utilizing cameras or sensors to monitor lane markings on the road, LDW detects when the vehicle crosses these lines and triggers visual, auditory, or haptic alerts to notify the driver of potential lane departure.

"moon roof exploded showing glass down into the head liner. had the roof panel been open it would have showered down into the cabin potentially causing injury or distracting me and causing a potential accident. the moon roof was closed at the time of occurrence and there were no large vehicles in front of me at the time that could have sent a road hazard toward my car, the shattering of the glass was load enough that for a moment i thought a tire had blown before realizing it was the roof."

"the nissan murano has a foot activated motion sensor that triggers the rear hatch. with the hatch in the up position i have sat on the rear area to change shoes. on two occasions the hatch has lowered without me triggering it. i believe, if one sits on the rear area and moves either leg back and forth the sensor is triggered. i have noted these concerns with corporate nissan and they in turn suggested i go to a nissan dealer and determine if this is a problem. the dealer indicated they will look into it."

Complaint:
"i was driving to work when i heard a popping noise then glass hitting the sunroof shade above my head. i immediately realized that there was a hole in my sunroof, but i didn't hear anything hit it like a rock; just a popping noise. i pulled off the freeway and parked my car and took pictures of the hole the size of a basketball in my sunroof. if i hadn't of had the shade closed there would be glass all over inside my car and on my person. i called the dealership and told them what happened. after i got the run around from a few folks i finally found someone that told me to bring my car in so they could look at it. after seeing it she told me they have had a few vehicles with the same issue. she said it may be a factory default in the glass. they said it would be fully covered and it would be replaced in about a week. after leaving the dealership i did some research online and found a lot of similar cases and not just with nissan. apparently this is happening because vehicle manufacturers are using tempered glass which is what mine has. my dealership told me that this is happening a lot, but not enough to issue a recall. i am turning this issue in so that it might help in requiring these manufacturers to do the right thing. had i known that this was a possibility i would not have bought this vehicle. i am worried that the replacement sunroof glass will be the same and it could happen again."
