Safety Features

2017 Nissan Sentra 4 DR FWD Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2017 Nissan Sentra 4 DR FWD

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

Optional
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Utilizing cameras or sensors to monitor lane markings on the road, LDW detects when the vehicle crosses these lines and triggers visual, auditory, or haptic alerts to notify the driver of potential lane departure.

"my 16 year old son was stopped at a stop light. when the light turned green, he pressed on the gas but the car would not accelerate. it did start accelerating but would not go over 5 mph and was shaking and knocking. the check engine light then came out so he immediately pulled over. he was driving by himself at night. thankfully it was on a side street without a whole lot of traffic. had this happened in heavy traffic or on the highway then it could have had serious consequences. this happened without any warning and my 16 year old son was not safe. i do not feel safe in this vehicle anymore and i do not feel safe allowing my son to drive it either. the repair shop advised that it is the transmission. nissans should not be having transmission problems just after 5 years and 100,000 miles. come to find out this is a common problem with 2017 nissan sentras. this should be recalled and fixed by nissan!!!"
