"the contact owned a 2013 nissan titan. the contact stated the vehicle was serviced under nhtsa campaign number: 20v188000 (air bags) however, the contact's husband was driving at 55 mph, where the driver saw a deer in the road and swerved in order to avoid hitting the deer but the vehicle hit a driveway covert which caused the vehicle to flip several times and hit a utility pole. the driver-side air bag did not deploy, however the side curtain air bags deployed for the passenger side. the vehicle was damaged where the front and rear driver side tires were thrown off of the vehicle. the driver was ejected out of the vehicle from the front windshield. the driver sustained a bruise on his right knee, a burn to the right wrist, a bruise to his left rib, cuts and bruises over his body. no medical treatment was at the scene due to the driver declining care. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to a tow yard where it was later deemed a total loss. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximate 109,000."

"nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013 titan and armada vehicles manufactured february 22, 2013, through may 3, 2013. the affected vehicles have a brake master cylinder which may intermittently reduce the pressure supplied to the front brakes."
Consequence:
If the front brake pressure is reduced there would be less braking power, requiring a longer distance to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy:

Nissan has notified owners, and dealers will replace the master cylinder, free of charge. The recall began on October 21, 2013. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
