2007 Nissan Xterra 4-DR Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2007 Nissan Xterra 4-DR

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

No
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Complaint:
"tl* the contact owns a 2007 nissan xterra. the contact stated that the fuel gauge failed to operate properly with the check engine warning light illuminated. the contact refilled the fuel tank however, the fuel gauge showed empty. the contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the vin was not included. the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by a dealer or independent mechanic. the manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that recalls were vin specific and the vin was not included. the failure mileage was 90,000."

Complaint:
"apparently, this is happening to large number of nissan vehicles. it started with my gas meter getting stuck on a quarter of tank. and twice i ran out of gas, thinking i still had some gas left in tank. now my empty tank light cuts on usually after i get around a half of tank. when i fill up it may take 2 or 3 trips before the sensor gets off of reading no gas. my check engine light is on as well. very frustrating not knowing how much is in tank, especially on long trips. frustrating as well, having to put gas in xterra every 2-3 days not knowing how much is actually in tank. *tr"

Complaint:
"my fuel gauge registered only 1/2 of the last quarter so i completely filled up. when i started the car up the fuel gauge now read totally empty, with the yellow empty light on. i knew it was full so i reset the odometer to track mileage to estimate fuel content. after about two driving cycles the gauge eventually made it to the full mark and seemed to come down normally. this has happened now three more times. i understand there has been a recall, but my vehicle is outside the time (sept 2013) and distance (72000) miles allowed for the recall. it's now may 2014, with 76000 miles. the dealer, and the nissan 800 number just blew me off as being outside the recall warranty limits. one of the times the gauge hung up at the last quarter tank, you could run out of fuel in traffic or an intersection. i feel it's serious enough to rate as a safety issue. *tr"

"check engine light is on. took car to dealer and they came up with code p0463 regarding the fuel sending unit. needed a new fuel sending unit & gauge assembly installed for about $430.00. nissan had issued a warranty notification regarding this, extending the warranty to 72 months (6 yrs) / 72,000 miles. we were beyond the revised warranty period so we had to pay for the repair. nissan should be made to issue a recall and pay for the fix. to the nhtsa!! please investigate and require nissan to do the right thing! *tr"

Complaint:
"the "check engine" light on my 07 xterra went off when leaving my garage. using my scangauge, i found out my engine was showing error code p0463. when we got home i jumped on the net and discovered that it meant my fuel level sensor was malfunctioning and that, while no real threat to my safety was posed other than possibly running out of gas by surprise, it seems this is a very common problem with xterras. so common in fact, that previous generation nissans were actually recalled for a similar issue. unfortunately, no recall has been placed on the part for the 2nd gen yet, and so nissan customers are being forced to have the dealer make the repair to the tune of about $600. also it seem like a lot of other people are having the same issue with this faulty part according to the internet."

"ongoing problems with p0463 code and ses light. fuel sensor does not function correctly, so i of not know how much gas is in my car. apparently there was a recall on this for the 2006 and 2008, but not the 07? this is dangerous! i do not want to run out of gas while i'm driving! *tr"

"fuel level sensor was malfunctioning on my xterra, seems to be an ongoing thing with xterras since people keep posting about it http://www.clubxterra.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10923 and http://www.denlorstools.com/autoblog/2010/08/xterrapathfinder-fuel-gauge-erratic-p0463-check-engine-light/ this should be recalled. *tr"

"i filled up my gas tank and when i left, i noticed the "service engine soon" light and that my gas gage was in empty right after filling up. after a little while the service light would go off and the gas gage seemed to be working again. i did a little web research and found many other owners are seeing the same issue. i'm willing to live with using my trip gage because the cost to fix is too much for a known issue. love my xterra just hate this issue. what i have found is that the federal mandate on ethanol mixed gas corrodes the censure is from one person thoughts. also found that if you take it in, the code will say, p0463 which means you fuel sender unit sensor is out. *tr"

Complaint:
"i filled up my gas tank and when i left the gas station and started driving home the "service engine soon" light came on. the gas gauge did not read as a full tank either and i also full my tank up every time i get gas. i also reset to odometer so i know how many miles i get with each tank of gas. i took my nissan xterra 2007 to have them read the code to me and it came back "p0463". this is the fuel sender unit sensor. apparently, this problem seems to be an long ongoing issue with nissan. it should be a recall defect but it is not. the sensor part goes bad and they want the customer to pay out $600. to fix the problem. this is s problem that needs to be fixed by the dealership! *tr"
