Safety Features

2014 Toyota Avalon 4 DR FWD Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2014 Toyota Avalon 4 DR FWD

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

Optional
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Utilizing cameras or sensors to monitor lane markings on the road, LDW detects when the vehicle crosses these lines and triggers visual, auditory, or haptic alerts to notify the driver of potential lane departure.

Complaint:
"toyota issued recall 15v728, regarding the pcs system on our avalon. that was last november, 2015. toyota has failed to provide a fix, and we have been without this very expensive important safety feature for over half a year. toyota's notice stated that if "toyota has failed or is unable to remedy within a reasonable time, you may submit a complaint to the administrator , national highway traffic safety administration. " i am herein registering that complaint, and request that the nhtsa require toyota to refund to owners of the affected vehicles the value of the feature we have been deprived of for over half a year. it does not appear that toyota is going to be able to correct this safety defect in the indefinite future, so toyota's failure to provide this feature we paid dearly for is bordering on fraud. or at least light a fire under toyota and get them to focus on fixing this feature. thank you for your consideration. *tr"
