Safety Features

2015 Buick Lacrosse 4 DR AWD Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2015 Buick Lacrosse 4 DR AWD

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

Optional
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Utilizing cameras or sensors to monitor lane markings on the road, LDW detects when the vehicle crosses these lines and triggers visual, auditory, or haptic alerts to notify the driver of potential lane departure.

Complaint:
"while driving at approximately 55 mph, my power steering went out (at first i thought i had blown a tire). it became almost impossible to perform any quick/reactionary steering changes. i put on my hazards and drove to the dealership and then for a second opinion with my local trusted mechanic. both advised the electronic steering assembly went bad, that there is a new part #, indicative of a high failure rate; however, the part is not available in all of north america (they checked.) they called gm buick and were advised an eta on the backorder for the part is unknown. they filed for an emergency backorder request and are awaiting further information. now, i have an undriveable vehicle, there are no loaner cars available, the cheapest rental car is a full car payment every three days, and no idea how long before the vehicle will be able to be repaired as it is too dangerous to drive in its current state. i think this needs to be investigated, as this issue sounds like it should be a recall before someone gets killed."
