2006 Buick LUCERNE - Ratings, Complaints and Recalls

The 2006 Buick Lucerne received high ratings in front crash tests, with a score of 5 for both the driver and passenger sides. However, the overall safety rating is marked as "Not Rated" due to missing data in some categories. The car does not have forward collision warning or lane departure warning features, but it does offer optional electronic stability control for added safety on the road.

In terms of complaints and recalls, the vehicle has a total of 329 complaints and 4 recalls reported. While the high scores in front crash tests are reassuring, the missing overall safety rating and the number of complaints and recalls suggest that further evaluation and scrutiny may be necessary to determine the car's overall safety performance.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Optional

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

No
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling.
