Safety Features

2018 Buick Regal 5 HB FWD Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2018 Buick Regal 5 HB FWD

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

Optional
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Utilizing cameras or sensors to monitor lane markings on the road, LDW detects when the vehicle crosses these lines and triggers visual, auditory, or haptic alerts to notify the driver of potential lane departure.

Complaint:
"september 10, 2022 i was backing out of my driveway, but the car would not slow down, and i hit a tree on my neighbor's easement across the street. after a minute, i decided to move the car, put the car in drive, and again the car would not slow down, and wound up hitting the porch of my neighbor 2 houses over. i have used my left foot for braking since 1966, so it is not a case of mixing up pedals. my wife called 911, the police and ambulance showed up, and i was taken to the hospital. after x-rays, ultrasound, and 2 ct scans, it was determined that i did not have a brain bleed and i was sent home. the car was towed, examined by the insurance adjustor and body shop, and determined totalled. there were no warning lights, and only later that night did i remember that i had received a recall letter."
