Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

No
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. "my wiring on my passenger seat sensor is faulty! it sometimes detects randomly that someones there, when nobody is there and thus turns the airbags on and off constantly. i have to keep the passenger side seat belt buckled, otherwise it will mess up my sensors. i've had my airbags shut off and a notification appear before so it's quite scary and definitely a safety hazard. i know this is a known recall, but i believe since i have a "police package" a recall for my car was never initiated, even though it has the problem."

"a recent problem with the rear window defogger has unfolded a problem with a wiring harness that powers the window. gm never installed a fuse on the rear window defogger causing the wire to heat up and burn away the slot it sits in on the wire harness. inspecting my wire harness, the heat from the wire has melted almost entirely through the connector which is very dangerous and likely to cause a fire on the passenger side of the car underneath the carpet and fuse panel."

"my impala heating and air condition unit does not work properly and makes clicking noise when i do the following: get in the car, start the car, touch the heating and ac knobs. i was advised by the mechanic that they can't tell me what it would cost but this is a defect in the impala. said that the clicking is because it's trying to catch back to what ever is displaced and keeps trying. i've time this clicking and it goes on for a whole minute. i have a dual system and it appears the passenger said heats when it wants to,..this had been going on in my car for the last 8 months and i would like to know why the company have not taken responsibility for this defect. i would like for the company to take responsibility and recall and help the owners of the awful sound and embarrassing when others get in your car and hear the madness that you have to try and explain. i don't think this help people wanting to buy the car. thanks"

Recalls for the 2010 Chevrolet IMPALA

Component Recalls

Choose a component to see what recalls people have made about them.

Recall:
"general motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2009-2010 chevrolet impala vehicles manufactured april 25, 2008 through february 16, 2010. the front passenger seat frame may contact and damage the wires of the passenger presence sensor module."
Consequence:
If the wires are damaged, the passenger presence sensory system may fail to recognize that the passenger seat is occupied, disabling the air bag. Damage may also cause the air bag fuse to short resulting in a loss of all air bags and seat belt pretensions. Both conditions increase the risk of injury during a crash.
Remedy:

GM will notify owners, and dealers will double wrap the wires with anti-abrasion tape and replace damaged wires as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on August 1, 2016. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-521-7300. GM's recall campaign number is 36110.
