2019 Chevrolet Malibu 4 DR FWD Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu 4 DR FWD

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

Optional
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Utilizing cameras or sensors to monitor lane markings on the road, LDW detects when the vehicle crosses these lines and triggers visual, auditory, or haptic alerts to notify the driver of potential lane departure.

Complaint:
"in the past week, i tried turning off my vehicle, but received the message "shift to park". this has happened three times, thus far (11/6, 11/8, 11/13). the car is already in park, but won't turn off, unless i continually shift, or restart the car several times, otherwise, it continues to run with the message displayed. after several attempts, it finally turns off. this is absolutely horrifying! is this a safety issue, and if, so, is gm addressing this issue and notifying owners of this problem and what procedures to take? i have not received any recall notice regarding this problem. is my car safe to drive? is this something the dealership can address? i do not want to be somewhere and not be able to start my car. i start it was the battery becaused i received an email from onstar stating the battery was critically low on the 6 of november. i purchased a new battery on november 9, 2023, thinking this would resolve the problem. it did not!"
