Safety Features

2010 Lexus HS250h w/SAB Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2010 Lexus HS250h w/SAB

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

Optional
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Utilizing cameras or sensors to monitor lane markings on the road, LDW detects when the vehicle crosses these lines and triggers visual, auditory, or haptic alerts to notify the driver of potential lane departure.

Complaint:
"safety recall glk rear lower suspension arm no.1 certain 2010 model year hs250h was done previously in 2016 and epoxy was put on the lower control arms rendering the suspension not being able to be aligned by conventional means. the car is now out of alignment in the rear and cannot be adjusted due to the epoxy. dealership states that once a recall is done it cannot be redone for free and it would be out of pocket. this service can only be done at certified dealership. the car pulls to the right and it swings, sways and drifts into corners and feels very unstable."

"taking left turn, heard a loud sound and complete loss of control of vehicle. currently being inspected by lexus dealership, although car was initially towed to dealership service center from which is was purchased. they mentioned lower control arm of rear suspension bolt was lost/missing and rear struts were shot and vehicle is unsafe to drive. i then paid for a second tow from dealership to lexus dealership. no warning lights were lit except after total loss of control."

Complaint:
"the previous recall on this issue is not completely resolved. the rear suspension on this model of lexus was simply epoxied in place permanently. the recall "resolution" approved by nhtsa and implemented by lexus does not allow for the common maintenance on the vehicle - namely, alignment. therefore, inordinate and substantial tire wear occurs due to the inability to align the wheels. the only way to “align” the tires is to buy completely new suspension parts (approximately $900) which will then be permanently epoxied in place again. instead of the normal alignment ($100) again in an expected maintenance period, the lexus dealer requires entire replacement again. this recall was not repaired. this recall was permanently and unsafely epoxied in place without the possibility of alignment needed for safety. it is unsafe to drive a car that cannot be aligned properly. tire failure is a real and present danger. my tires were excessively worn and could have blown out."

Complaint:
"recall for rear suspension arms. there was a recall on my car which was processed in aug 2016 at 89k miles by previous owner. i purchased the car in dec 2021-jan 2022 at around 93-94k miles. this means the car was almost not used by previous owner for 5 years as the recall wasn't performed well also, the label for "safety recall" is still on the entire rear suspension arms which proves the point. when i called the dealership, they mentioned they never ever leave the stickers on after the recall is processed which is contradictory to the repairs done. this is a serious safety issue and lexus is liable to fix this recall but they are asking me to pay for it. i do not have any extra money to keep spending just because of the recalls not processed correctly. it goes with the brand lexus which i trusted to buy. recall is not done correctly which is a fact. after driving for few months and just around 3-4 k miles the new tires are completely destroyed. this is when my wife was doing on freeway this happened which is very scary and serious safety concern. attaching the pictures and certificate of recall repairs, if you can help in this regards."

"the contact owns a 2010 lexus hs250 hybrid. the contact stated had they had recently purchased the vehicle and had minor repairs performed on the vehicle by an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the vehicle could not be aligned due to the repair as stated in nhtsa campaign number: 16v596000 (suspension). the contact stated that the tie rod could not be adjusted. the mechanic referred the contact to a dealer to get the vehicle repaired. the contact reached out to the manufacturer and was informed that the vehicle needed to be inspected by an authorized dealer. the vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. the contact was informed that the wheel bearings on the rear driver’s wheel needed to be replaced. the contact was informed that the part was no longer manufactured by the vehicle manufacturer however, there was an aftermarket part to fix the vehicle. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 142,000."

"this car has had 7 recalls. when you review the carfax or nhtsa website, it only show open recalls. the rear suspension problem was originally recalled 08/02/12 recall number 12v37-3000, dealers were instructed to inspect for loose tie-rod nuts and replace as needed. then 08/28/13 recall notice 13v383-000 was issued and the rear tie rods will be encased in epoxy to prevent future environmental damage. since this didn't work, it was replaced with recall 16v596-000 on 08/12/16. this recall superseded 13v-383, the affected vehicles that were previously recalled but did not have both suspension arms replaced. those vehicles were supposed to have them replaced and encapsulate the locknuts. here is the problem... within 7 months of normal driving, no potholes, no speed bumps, the car is so far out of alignment it ruined 2 rear tires. plus, the car can't be aligned without replacing the tie rods to the cost of $735! lexus refuses to pay for this since it is out of warranty. this is a recall that did not fix the problem."

"the 2010 hs250h rear lower suspension arm recall flaw the safety recall work caused non-recoverable damages to the rear tires of my 2010 hs250h. toronto lexus told me that the damages to the tires wererear due to misalignment by westside lexus. lexus usa only reimbursed me a small portion of the total cost (redo of recall work + 4 new tires). neither lexus usa nor westside lexus would pay for the damages on the tires. the story: i purchase the lexus 2010 h250h from westside lexus houston in 2010. on april 10, 2015, westside lexus did a recall work on the rear suspension arms (rear tie rods). at the same time, i had westdise lexus installed 4 new dunlop 225/45zr18 tires. feb. 2017 i moved back to canada. on the long weekend of aug. 2017, i was driving on highway near toronto. one of rear tire suddenly burst out. i sent the car to a lexus service center in toronto for repair. the technician told me that the tire was not repairable. there was uneven wear-out on the inner edges of both rear tires. toronto lexus told me that the uneven wear of tires was due to misalignment of tires by westside lexus. and it was also related to the rear suspension arms recall work. since epoxy was applied to the rear tie rods, those rods were no longer adjustable. toronto lexus had to redo the recall work and replace all 4 tires. toronto lexus charged me total $1762.82. the technician also had given me a report of the misalignment by westside lexus."
