2020 Lexus RX 450h SUV AWD Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2020 Lexus RX 450h SUV AWD

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

Standard
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Utilizing cameras or sensors to monitor lane markings on the road, LDW detects when the vehicle crosses these lines and triggers visual, auditory, or haptic alerts to notify the driver of potential lane departure.

Complaint:
"my car trunk could not be closed right after the year i bought it in july, 2020. i went to the dealer crown lexus in ontario, southern california. they fixed it. now it is happening again, i can not close the trunk by touching the button on the trunk or in the car to the left of the driver’s wheel. my husband and i went to see our younger son and grandson in richmond near san francisco via we stopped at the marriott overnight in san mateo for seeing a friend on the way during the christmas time from 22nd-25th, our whole trip was scared and bothered by the fact that we couldn’t get the trunk closed whenever and whatever unless we tried 4, 7, even 10 times. we were truly scared and concerned that we would not be able to continue our trip. my husband had to stand at the hotel parking lot in cold weather for an hour until i was able to went down to the parking lot to try to finally close it. this incident happened throughout our entire trip going to sf and being back home in apple valley. we were afraid that we couldn’t finish our trip. what a terrible experience! i personally guess that it is a design error, but i am not sure. please contact me, and please solve the problem."

"i was driving on the 210 freeway in southern california and my sunroof exploded. there was no sign of an object hitting it and i didn't see anything bounce off of it onto the road or onto other cars. my insurance company inspected it and sent me to a repair shop to have it replaced."

Complaint:
"i took the car to metro express car wash in denver. as the car progressed along the tracks, the tall brush approached the car and the collision avoidance system got activated, the car got pushed off-track and brushed against all kinds of tubes, pipes and scratched and dented the entire right (passenger) side. the cost to repair this damage at the lexus certified body shop (required by my lease agreement with lexus financial) is $12,000 (and counting). only about 50% is covered by state farm because the lexus certified shop is not on their list of preferred shops. nothing in the owners manual covers the behavior of the collision avoidance system nor did the dealers 'demo' of the extensive technical features caution me of what i should be doing in such a case. the car wash only asked the car be in neutral and the automatic wipers be switched off. i have for the past month (case number 2009080358) tried to impress on lexus that this attempt to deny any responsibilty has been met with a total disregard to my situation"
