2011 Nissan 370Z ROADSTER - Ratings, Complaints and Recalls

The 2011 Nissan 370Z Roadster has not been rated for safety by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). It comes equipped with standard electronic stability control, which is a positive feature for enhancing vehicle stability and safety on the road. However, it lacks both forward collision warning and lane departure warning systems, which are technologies designed to prevent accidents and promote safer driving practices.

Despite the lack of safety ratings, it is worth noting that this model has a relatively high number of complaints, with 40 reported issues. Additionally, there has been 1 recall and 1 ongoing investigation associated with this vehicle, indicating that there may be underlying safety concerns that should be addressed. Overall, while the presence of stability control is a good safety feature, the absence of collision and lane departure warnings, coupled with a significant number of complaints and recalls, raises some concerns about the overall safety performance of the 2011 Nissan 370Z Roadster.

Safety Features

2011 Nissan 370Z Roadster C RWD Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2011 Nissan 370Z Roadster C RWD

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

No
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Utilizing cameras or sensors to monitor lane markings on the road, LDW detects when the vehicle crosses these lines and triggers visual, auditory, or haptic alerts to notify the driver of potential lane departure.

"steering lock failure from what i understand nissan recalled this part for model years 2009-2010 however i have a 2011 model and it has failed at just under 28k miles. i cant start my car, the steering lock acts as a security feature (anti theft) and it has failed on my car and numerous other vehicles. i simply parked my car and when i returned i was unable to start it. i had to have it towed to a nissan dealership which has quoted me 1060.00 to replace that part with what i'm afraid is just going to fail again. how i'm not protected under the pervious recall or any other warranty is beyond me. what can i do to protect myself. why was i sold a car with a part they know is bad. prior to purchasing my vehicle i was under the impression i was buying a model year that did not suffer these symptoms (notably because i researched this issue prior). please advise. thanks, dane"

Complaint:
"nissan has a well documented problem with the electronic steering lock unit (eslu) on several models, but specifically the 2009 - 2011 370z models. the eslu is touted by nissan as a security feature;however, when it fails, you cannot start the car. that makes this a safety issue. i parked my car over the weekend and then it would not start. the vehicle was stationary. nissan claims the latest revision of the part, 48700-jf00d, fixes the failure, but that exact part failed on my 2011 nissan 370z. i had to pay out of pocket (my year model and vin were not included in the recall) to fix the problem."
