Safety Features

2019 Nissan Armada SUV AWD Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2019 Nissan Armada SUV AWD

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

Standard
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Utilizing cameras or sensors to monitor lane markings on the road, LDW detects when the vehicle crosses these lines and triggers visual, auditory, or haptic alerts to notify the driver of potential lane departure.

Complaint:
"almost new battery, it checked out okay; alternator appears to be providing proper voltage and current. issue is excessive drain and once the temperature drops the car/suv will not start and needs a jump start and then on all great. to me issue appears to be battery drain more then expected. we will do further diagnosis on component level and see which one is draining more than expected."

Complaint:
"i have had this vehicle for a little over 2 years and within the past 18 months, i have had to replace my battery 4 times. i took my vehicle to a nissan dealer and was told that it was my bluetooth, my radio, and other non-related things that is draining the battery. i finally took it to a mom and pop mechanic and was told that it was my anti-theft system that was draining the battery, and if i wanted him to replace it, there was a chance the car would never start again. there is clearly a problem with the armada's electrical system, and nissan should definitely address it!"

Complaint:
"despite two new batteries, within 10 months, i have been stranded several times when the car would not start. i checked with my local mechanic and the alternator is working correctly, but apparently there is a sensor that only works the alternator when doing non-city driving. i checked with nissan today and even though this is clearly a defect, they charge $400 to disable the faulty sensor and do not consider it a design flaw"

Complaint:
"have had several issues with the battery draining when nothing is on. over the 2.5 years since i've owned the vehicle, this has been a constant problem. the vehicle has been to the dealership on several occasions and i was told that a wire from the computer to the electrical system was causing the problem. the dealer also told me they had to call nissan headquarters to try to troubleshoot the problem. there are several forums online discussing how everyone knows this is a known problem with the armada, but nothing is being done. went to buy a new battery today because it would not start or jumped, but was told the battery was actually good."

Complaint:
"repeated issue of car randomly not starting. ironically was at dealer on 4/11/22. i was told that car wasn't giving error of an issue. today on 4/12/22 car would not start in the am when i was leaving for work. jump started it and drove to work. got off work, stopped at gas station and car would not start when i attempted to leave gas station. had to get jump in order to drive it home. this is absolutely ridiculous and annoying for me to have this repeated issue while only having the car for 1 1/2 years. what is even more frustrating is that nissan has yet to diagnose/fix the issue. they are very much aware that it's a wide spread issue as multiple complaints from multiple people have been made."

Complaint:
"randomly will not start after normal use. just purchased in nov 2020. started having non start issue by april 2021. returned to dealer who states brake sensor needs to be replaced but want to charge hundreds of dollars. it is clearly a nissan issue as many others report the same issue. literally can work fine, drive to work and will not start after my standard 8 hour shift! suv will only start after getting a jump start. issue will randomly occur again in a few days, weeks, or months. car cost too much to experience this issue that nissan wants the consumer to pay for when it is clearly a defect."

"2019 nissan was purchased aug 2020 from vallejo nissan(ca). october 20' the armada wouldn't start, i took it to the tracy nissan dealership as i have the nissan plus extended warranty. tech said it was the battery which was not covered. i purchased a new battery with max cranking amps. jan 28, 2021 i took the car back to dealership as it failed to start again(#2). nissan tech said the negative battery terminal cable was loose. feb 3, 2021 i took the car back to tracy nissan as it failed to start (#3). nissan tech replaced the stop lamp switch which he stated was the reason why the armada wouldn't start. feb 20th, armada again would not start (#4). took it to dealer feb 22nd and was told a few days later(feb 27th) that a nissan regional technician was contacted and they had to update the "rapid charge" system in the armada and they were "pretty sure" the problem has been repaired. my wife arrived at nissan on feb 27th and armada again, would not start(#5). this was while it was still in the nissan dealer lot. march 1st i was contacted by nissan tech who stated my battery has low cranking amps due to the update they had to do to the rapid charge system and asked me to replace the battery...again! four of the five times the vehicle wouldn't start it was parked in my driveway, the fifth time it was parked at the dealership."
