2017 Nissan FRONTIER - Ratings, Complaints and Recalls

The 2017 Nissan Frontier King Cab PU/EC AWD has not received an overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). However, it is worth noting that it received a 4-star rating for rollover prevention, indicating a moderate level of safety in that aspect. The vehicle is equipped with standard electronic stability control, which enhances its ability to maintain control on the road, especially in adverse conditions. Unfortunately, it does not feature forward collision warning or lane departure warning systems, which could provide additional safety benefits in terms of avoiding potential accidents.

In terms of complaints and recalls, the vehicle has 31 reported complaints and 1 recall. While the number of complaints is relatively high, it is essential to consider the context of how many vehicles are on the road and being used. The single recall suggests that there was a specific safety issue identified by the manufacturer that needed to be addressed. Overall, while the Nissan Frontier has some safety features like stability control, potential buyers should be aware of the lack of advanced safety warning systems and the reported complaints and recalls associated with this model.

(perhaps dissimilar materials that are somehow fused/bonded together.) fuel spilled from the tank onto my garage floor initially; i moved the vehicle outside. the problem was confirmed by an independent service center. the service center replaced the tank with a new oem tank. the vehicle is low mileage, garage kept and well maintained. i am reporting this in case there is a manufacturers defect in these fuel tanks. photo of the fuel tank and filler connection neck area attached."

Complaint:
"i try and fill up fuel and the pump constantly shuts off. i have to pump the fuel super slow in order for it to fill up. i have tried different gas stations, same issue. i took it into the dealer and they did some repairs under the enhancement warranty they implemented, but the issue still exists. they want to charge me $1900 to replace the fuel tank and other fuel components even though the exact same issue is happening as described in the warranty enhancement for the issue. code p0448. the issue is beyond just the evap canister if the issue still exists after they replaced it, so it seems as though they are only trying to repair part of the issues even though it is beyond the basic fix, if it is still occurring. if you try and fill up normally, the nozzle shuts off or the fuel spills out because it is detecting it is full even though it's not."
