2013 Toyota Avalon 4 DR FWD Safety Features

Here are the safety features that come as standard on the 2013 Toyota Avalon 4 DR FWD

Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

ESC is an advanced safety feature in vehicles designed to help drivers maintain control during challenging driving conditions. By continuously monitoring various factors such as steering angle, vehicle speed, and individual wheel speeds, ESC can detect and reduce the risk of skidding or loss of control. It achieves this by automatically applying brakes to specific wheels to stabilize the vehicle.

Standard
Forward Collision Warning (FCW)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

No
Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. "the rear window shade (which should automatically go down when you put the car in reverse) was stuck in the up position which made it difficult to see clearly when backing up also at night. toyota said it was not warrantied and that they would not be responsible for the coast $1400 to replace a bad motor even though i said it was a safety hazard. in the end i paid $395.58 to have the motor disconnected so i could see clearly out the back window."

Complaint:
"when i put the car in reverse, there is a very loud grinding noise as the retractable rear window screen tries to go up. when the car is put in gear there is a different grinding noise. the screen has frozen in various stages of up or down, but now is stuck down, obviously trying to raise. according to many posts online, including some from toyota dealerships, this has been an ongoing problem for over 10 years. it is a safety problem at night when the screen has been stuck in the up position and it is difficult to see out. it is also a safety problem because the noise is very loud and distracting. i have taken it to two different toyota dealers who say it will cost $1,600 to replace, but it would only be guaranteed for 1 year. the fuse can't be removed to disable it and stop the noise because it will affect the cruise control and the blinkers. i want the noise silenced. toyota needs to fix this issue through a warranty extension or recall."
