Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) is a safety feature in vehicles that helps prevent frontal collisions by alerting the driver of an imminent collision with a vehicle or obstacle ahead. Using sensors such as radar or cameras, FCW monitors the distance and speed of vehicles in front, and if it detects a potential collision, it provides visual and/or auditory warnings to prompt the driver to take evasive action.

Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

Lane Departure Warning (LDW) is a safety feature in vehicles that alerts drivers when their vehicle unintentionally drifts out of its lane without signaling. Complaint:
"when i put the car in park and push the push start/stop button, the car shuts off but the accessories and middle console display stay on. i have to keep shifting the car between the park position and the drive position before i put it back to the park position for the car to completely shut-off. this car is available for inspection. as far as safety is concerned, the only thing i can think of is that if the car does not completely shut off the battery would drain and not be able to start the car. i took the car to my mechanic and he said that i need to take it to the dealer. the dealer was informed and the dealer said that it was not a recall. the car was only inspected by my mechanic. there were no warning lights or messages in the car or symptoms prior to this happening."

Complaint:
"as many of us have experienced, i also have an issue with the accessory mode staying on after turning the car off. based on my research, it appears to be the parking switch inside the shifter wears off and the car doesn?t register the car is in park. mazda should issue a recall on this, as i have experienced battery drainage and it seems to be getting worse with time. it seems to happen right around the 50-75k mileage, just outside the warranty period. it just seems too premature and not something that happens after 100k miles. it happens when the car is stationary. *tr"

Complaint:
"i own a 2014 mazda 6 grand touring. the car has about 72k miles on it. i bought the car a year ago and starting a few months ago the car would not turn off immediately after hitting the ignition button. the car panel would say that i had to put the car in parking even though the car was already in parking mode. usually i was able to simply move the shift stick a bit and it would allow me to turn the car off completely. but it has gotten worst over time and it's beginning to affect my battery life. i have done some research and found out that my car is not the only one with this problem. based on the information i found mane of the 2014 mazda 6 models (specifically those manufactured late 2013 and early 2014) have been showing this same problem with the ignition switch unit. mazda found the problem and fixed it in the newer cars but a recall was never made for those cars with the bad switch unit. i tried contacting their support system today and their answer was that because a recall hadn't been done they would not do anything about it. i think it is unfair that a manufacturing problem has been unnoticed and left to people to pay for. i am already paying enough for this car to also have to worry about a manufacturing problem that has been left unattended by the company. this certainly is very dangerous as i might have the cars battery die and have no way of getting immediate help and right now it's just the car not acknowledging the parking mode but what if one day the car starts using the wrong shift unknowingly to me and i end up in a car accident because of this? i won't be able to do anything as this has been left unnoticed and no recall has been made even with the dangers it presents to the driver and the car itself. some of this informations was found on https://mazda.oemdtc.com/665/ignition-does-not-turn-off-when-pressing-startstop-button-2013-2014-mazda. *tr"

"i was at walmart about 3 weeks ago and when i finished shopping i came out to my vehicle in an almost empty parking lot and my car would not start. with people already scared about the corona virus no one was willing to help. since this is our only vehicle i ended up having to call a relative from to come and help me he told me that my battery had died, i told him that that couldn't be the problem when i got home i looked on the internet and i saw where there were hundreds of mazda car owners who were having the same problem, car will not shut off when in park draining battery. i joined the long list of mazda owners by calling mazda complaining about the apparent manufacturer's defect and was met with the same scripted scrip. "sorry but they have not received enough complaints for a recall and they felt that this was really not a "safety" issue, really? a woman being stranded in and empty parking lot at night with no security is not a safety issue, i don't see what is. mazda know and has known for years about the gear shift being defected but has ignored the hundreds of complaints that have been called in because when we call in to cs they don't record complaint so therefore never enough registered complaints"
